METAPHOR

METAPHOR
A comparison of two things that have something in commen, but unlike similes, they don't use the words like, as, than, or resembles to make the comparison.

Examples From Literature:

"They were a very dark blue (his eyes)and burned with an inner fire that seemed at first cold, but then, she realized, was hot at the center, hot enough to burn."
The Naming by Alison Croggon (2002).

"Your eyes are the brightest of all the colors."
"Thunder" lyrics by Boys Like Girls from their album Boys Like Girls (2006).

My Examples:

I looked up and saw a light that seemed to outshine everything imaginable, even the sun.

You act dead in the morning.
